First time I visited Edinburgh I was struck by all the history you see everywhere. I walked along the Royal Mile, a historic street connecting Edinburgh Castle and the Palace of Holyroodhouse. One can almost imagine how the royals, soldiers and staff travelled between the two in the Middle Ages. So much history in one short mile. I also really enjoyed the visit to ‘The Real Mary King’s Close’ a preserved 17th century street.
