Jungfraujoch, at 3454 metres a.s.l is a different world, and one you have to experience! A trip by cable car and cogwheel railway to Europe's highest altitude railway station is a highlight.
Sett off on an unforgettable excursion from Interlaken to Jungfraujoch – The Top of Europe, one of Switzerland’s most spectacular mountain destinations. Located at 3,454 metres above sea level, Jungfraujoch lies in the heart of the Swiss Alps and offers spectacular views of snow-covered peaks and the Aletsch Glacier.
Your journey to Jungfraujoch begins with a short train ride to Grindelwald, where you board the Eiger Express gondola. Enjoy spectacular views of the surrounding mountains as you ascend towards the high Alps. From there, continue by cogwheel railway to Jungfraujoch, travelling through a seven-kilometre-long tunnel built between 1896 and 1912. One of the stops inside the mountain offers an opportunity to see the glacier from within the tunnel.
At the summit, you will have free time to explore the attractions, including the Sphinx viewing platform, the Ice Palace and the Alpine Sensation, a 250-metre-long moving walkway connecting the Sphinx Hall with the Ice Palace.
After spending time at the summit, begin your return journey to Interlaken by train. The route includes two changes, at Kleine Scheidegg and Lauterbrunnen, giving you the opportunity to experience more of the beautiful Alpine scenery along the way.
