Bath, Stonehenge & Windsor on a day Trip

Three of England´s historical sites will be visited on this day trip from London. Explore the Roman city of Bath, Royal Windsor & castle as well as the mystical Stonehenge. On this guided small group tour you will admire Bath's Roman influences, visit the magnificent Windsor Castle and marvel at the ancient monument that is Stonehenge.

Meet up with your driver /guide in central London and begin the tour through London towards chalk hills and a land of Stone Age tombs. As you drive towards the coast, you can watch Stonehenge unfold. Your guide will explain the construction methods believed to have been used to build Stonehenge and its purposes. Much is known about this monument, as well as many speculations that will be explained during the drive. You can admire this Neolithic monument up close while listening to the stories from an audio guide and understand how people lived 4,500 years ago.

Next, your guide will take you to the historic city of Bath and its many hot springs that are unique in the country. The Romans made the city a modern bathing resort of that time. Later, the city was revived by the Georgians, who made it a city where everyone wanted to be seen. The rich and famous landed in Bath to get rid of their ailments like joint stiffness and arthritis in the hot springs. The city did develop into a luxurious place with many restaurants, terraces and squares in elegant Georgian crescents. Many impressive names could be found in the city of Bath, including Jane Austen, Thomas Gainsborough, Lord Nelson, Alexander Pope and Napoleon III.

The next stop of the day is at the Royal town of Windsor, home to the oldest and largest continuously occupied castle in the world. You will have time to visit Windsor Castle, including the state apartments, reception rooms and the Royal Chapel of St. George- the final resting place of many of England´s kings and queens.
